Privacy Policy

Qurani (the “app”) is published by the Qurani team for the purpose of providing free, ad-free access to the Qur'an, hadith collections, prayer times, and other Islamic study tools. This policy explains what data the app does and does not collect.

Summary

Qurani does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs, no behavioral tracking, and no user accounts.

Data the app handles locally

Preferences: Selected language, theme, preferred reciter, and calculation method are stored locally on your device using your operating system's secure storage. They never leave the device.
Location: May be requested if you enable Prayer Times or Qibla. The coordinate is used only on-device to compute prayer times and the Qibla bearing. It is not transmitted to any server.
Local notifications: Scheduled by the operating system on your device for prayer-time reminders. No push servers are used; the app does not have permission for remote push notifications.
Audio & recitation downloads: May be cached on your device for offline playback. You can clear these at any time from the app's Settings screen.

Network requests

The app fetches Qur'an text, hadith collections, and recited audio from public content delivery networks (such as cdn.jsdelivr.net and everyayah.com). These requests are anonymous: the app sends no account identifier, no advertising identifier, no device identifier, and no personal information. The CDNs are independent third parties — Qurani neither operates them nor receives their logs, and any technical information they automatically observe (such as the IP address inherent to any internet connection) is governed by their own privacy practices, not Qurani's.

Children's privacy

Qurani is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it equally collects none from children.

Changes to this policy

If the app's privacy practices ever change, this page will be updated and a new effective date posted. You can always view the current version at qurani.io/privacy.
